The Pyrrho Project was started to address a few core problems in online spaces. Many platforms today are built in ways that harm users by encouraging constant engagement, collecting personal data, and shaping what people see without their knowledge. These systems have become profitable, but they also make it hard for better models to gain ground. The same techniques that drive revenue can be used to manipulate, mislead, or divide people. This has real effects on how we talk to each other, what we believe, and what we’re able to do together.

Pyrrho is an attempt to build something different. It doesn’t track users or collect data it doesn’t need. It doesn’t use hidden algorithms to rank content. It avoids targeted ads and profiling altogether. The goal is to explore simple, open ways for people to share and communicate online - ways that offer more clarity and control, and fewer harms. If this can be done while staying economically viable, it may open the door for others to do the same.
